We decided to self-distribute our new film and are working with Neoflix/Magic Rock as our DVD replicators and fulfillment house. Orders from our website connect to their shopping cart and they handle everything from there (manufacturing product, billing and shipping). Working with them has been beyond great. They are incredibly helpful, responsive and smart. They’ve answered all kinds of technical and marketing questions and done things like add a feature the shopping cart within a couple of hours to make something work better. Sales statements are totally transparent (you can check sales online in real time) and they send out checks every two weeks with no prompting. As an independent filmmaker who embarked on self distribution, I was leery of using any old fulfillment company. I’d heard way too many horror stories. I realize I’ve been a bit MIA in detailing our DIY efforts. The whole process has been an eye popping experience. Exhausting? Yes…Daunting? a little…but ultimately immensely satisfying. Magic Rock’s fulfillment service is a complete package….warehousing, packing, shipping, and collecting the money.  Their fees are very reasonable, and they are willing to customize their services for unique situations.  Additionally, their marketing and promotion software is intuitive and easy to use.  For one example, we can generate customized coupon codes in less than a minute.  That has allowed us to offer customized discount codes to every audience where we screen the film.
