Headquartered in Los Angeles, an entrepreneurial team with extensive knowledge about web 2.0, e-commerce, software development, CD & DVD manufacturing, and B2B & B2C fulfillment collaborated with self-distribution experts to found Magic Rock.

Their combined efforts lead to the 2006 launch of Neoflix- an e-commerce platform designed specifically for indie filmmakers pursuing do-it-yourself distribution. This is the only e-commerce platform built from the ground-up to support filmmakers in a multi-channel strategy for both retail and wholesale, as well as built-in affiliate marketing and fan-base management functionalities. The platform ties into an automated warehouse system that manages fulfillment of domestic and international orders.

In 2007, Magic Rock launched marketing tools important for successful independent-distribution: Affiliate marketing and e-mail contact management. These two new web tools were designed and developed by MR's engineering team.

IndieClix, the affiliate marketing solution, is fully integrated with Neoflix checkout. Independent-distributors now may recruit affiliates world-wide to sell and promote their DVD and/or merchandise. IndieClix handles all program management and commission payments, so minimal effort is required for recruiting dozens or even hundreds of affiliates.

In addition to Indie Clix, MR launched the beta version of Box Office Widget, the email contact management solution in 2007. B.O.W. helps clients organize their email lists and provides an easy way for independent-distributors to run e-mail marketing campaigns.

MR also created a manufacturing arm to help clients manage DVD and CD manufacturing called DVD Baby. DVD Baby handles orders from 100 to 100,000 units, manufacturing the highest quality DVDs and CDs that are suited for retail shelves.

For 2008, MR will continue to develop exciting new tools as well as refine existing ones to bolster independent-distribution.
